For EDI, TMS & network pros · independent subcontractors · semi-retired welcome
Get paid for the trucking IT jobs our AI can't do by itself.
Our AI fixes EDI files and writes IT answers. When a carrier buys a hands-on job from us (AS2 down, a McLeod or TMW config change, a firewall, an on-site visit), we hire a vetted expert as our subcontractor to do it. Written briefs, your own hourly rate, no sales calls, no chasing invoices.
How pay works
Experienced experts set their own hourly rate; we add our margin on top when quoting the client. The customer pays in full before you see the offer, and you can turn down any job.
Tell us your hourly rate in the application; we confirm it in writing before you're approved. Trip charges pass through to you in full, and rush/after-hours work is 1.5× your rate.
Payment-first, always
- The customer pays OTRSI the full price upfront before any job offer reaches you. You'll never work on credit.
- 90% of your pay is sent on confirmation; a 10% holdback is released 60 days after the customer's payment if there's no refund or chargeback. A later refund or chargeback is recovered from the holdback first, then by netting against your future payouts (terms, draft). Card processing and dispute fees are always on us.
- Your pay is released when the customer confirms completion, or automatically 72 h after you mark it complete if they don't respond.
- Customer disputes are ours to resolve, from the written record. You're never asked to chase anyone.
- Scope grew? Submit a change order. You continue only after the customer pays OTRSI for it.
How it works
- Apply and pass vetting (skills scenario, written references, subcontractor agreement, W-9 and direct-deposit setup).
- Get written job offers that match your skills, region, and hours. Accept or decline.
- Work through a session the customer starts, or a temporary account they create. Never store passwords.
- Post written updates, then mark the job complete with a short change log.
- Get paid to your bank by direct deposit (ACH), with a 1099-NEC each January when required.
